The product range from KARL STORZ includes rigid and flexible endoscopes, instruments for the entire field of human medicine. Innovative products such as a fully digital video chain and KARL STORZ AIDA®, the central image and data archiving system, make for documentation that is convenient, comprehensive and high in quality.

With the KARL STORZ OR1™ a visionary OR concept for minimally invasive surgery of the future has taken shape: it is a fully integrated OR, centrally monitored and controlled, in which surgical processes and routine work are simultaneously streamlined and simplified.

Clinical Suite Facilities

Our clinical suite includes:

• 6 consulting rooms all with NHS PC’s.

• 6 treatment chair bays

• 2 bed intensive studies room for overnight studies

• Category 2 suite.

Piped medical gases and suction are available in all clinical areas as well as nurse call and emergency buzzers. CCTV monitoring is also available.

Administration Suite

The administration suite comprises office space to accommodate the administration team and quiet, write-up areas available for researchers and monitors.

The bright and spacious meeting room, with AV equipment is ideal for training seminars as well as for business meetings.

Sample Processing Room

The sample processing laboratory is fully equipped with centrifuges, ice maker, fridge and freezers. A separate freezer store houses a number of -80º freezers. All fridges and freezers have electronic temperature logging and alarm call-out systems.

Pharmacy

We have an on-site pharmacy for clinical trial product preparation and dispensing under the control and direction of the Ninewells Hospital NHS clinical trials pharmacist.

Record Storage

Clinical trial documentation is stored securely in our records store for the duration of your study. Long term off-site storage of study documentation can also be arranged.

On the lower level we have the following:

• 3T MRI scanner with NHS radiology staff.

vibratory tracks, Cannulator feed system, Automated syringe loading system, Rotafeed, centrifugal feed system, Robotics, Multi-lane feed systems, Skiving machine, Hoppers and elevators and a range of product accessories.

APS’ core technology is based on bacteriophage; naturally-occurring antimicrobials, widely researched in medical and veterinary fields, whereas their application in environmental sectors is relatively new. APS’ lead product, Biolyse® is a world first; a bacteriophage-based solution for washed and packed fresh produce. Currently, Biolyse® is being rolled out with a number of the UK’s major potato producers to reduce bacterial contamination during packing and its’ application is also being investigated in a variety of other agricultural and horticultural sectors, supported by a combination of grant- and commercial funding. In 2010 APS launched its’ own insect repellent brand, ‘Smidge that Midge’, which has caught the country’s imagination as a rugged, effective, family friendly product for outdoor enthusiasts. With over 250 UK outlets to date, APS was recently awarded the 2011 Nexxus Innovation Award (East) for Smidge and is currently developing a number of potential overseas markets for the product.

ACE is a ‘one stop shop’ which provides solutions to environmental issues confronting SME’s. The ACE facilities include very well equipped research and development laboratories as well as product development labs that can be used for SME’s. Between them ACE, UWTC and SIMBIOS can provide a unique range of assistance to help companies both large and small.
