University prepares to host Virtual Dundee Careers Fair

Hundreds of students will logon to help their careers take off as the University of Dundee hosts one of the country’s most prominent recruitment events.

Some of the biggest names in accountancy, education, finance, technology, and law will join employers from a host of other sectors for this year’s Virtual Dundee Careers Fair, which takes place on Thursday 5 November. Bringing together the University’s annual Careers Fair and Legal Recruitment Fair, more than 30 firms and organisations will be available for students to discuss the latest internships and graduate vacancies.

The event is open to students and graduates from Dundee, as well as other universities.

Richard Pool, Employer Engagement Manager at Dundee, said, “The world of work is constantly changing, no more so than in the current climate. Employers are always seeking the most talented and versatile new talent, and that is why our fairs consistently attract some of the country’s most respected recruiters.

“Our Careers Fair and Legal Recruitment Fair are among the largest events of their kind in the country, and even though this combined event is taking place online, we are thrilled that so many employers will be attending to speak with our students. It once again emphasises our reputation for producing informed, motivated graduates that employers value as potential employees.”

To attend the event, students and graduates must download the Career Fair Plus app to a phone and create an account, completing a profile that includes a CV as well as other relevant information. This profile will be visible to employers when a meeting request is made, giving jobseekers a valuable chance to make a positive early impression. A virtual demo on how the process works can be viewed on YouTube.

The Virtual Dundee Careers Fair takes place on Thursday 5 November from 10am – 3pm.
