Under 40s invited to roll up their sleeves as Tayside vaccinates 390,000 people

NHS Tayside is inviting residents aged 30-39 to roll up their sleeves for the COVID-19 vaccination.

More than 390,000 vaccines have now been delivered in Tayside - with almost 70% of adults having their first dose and 43% completing the course with both jabs.

Invites are currently being issued for those in priority group 11, which is those aged 30-39, and letters will begin arriving this week.

Everyone in this group will be offered an appointment over the coming weeks so please don’t worry if you don’t hear straight away.  In line with the latest national guidance, those under 40 will be offered the Pfizer vaccine.

Please remember that letters will be sent to the address you have registered with your GP practice so it’s really important that your surgery has the correct details for you.  If you’ve recently moved, or think your details may be out of date with your surgery, please get in touch to update your address.

For those yet to receive their second vaccine, our teams are working to review the clinic schedules to bring forward appointments as soon as possible.  Please wait for your appointment letter and only get in touch if it has been 11 weeks since your first vaccine.

If you had your first jab at your GP practice and have not received an appointment for your second dose by 11 weeks, please contact your GP directly.

If you had your first appointment at a community vaccination centre and have not received an appointment for your second dose by 11 weeks, please email tay.c19vaxlocalenquiries@nhs.scot

Priority groups 1-9:

  • If you are in priority groups 1 to 9, which includes people aged over 50, frontline health and social care workers, care home staff and residents, people who are shielding, unpaid carers and those under 65 with certain health conditions, and have NOT yet received an invite you can complete the missed invitations form at https://invitations.vacs.nhs.scot/
  • Those who have been vaccinated should continue to follow FACTS as it will take time to establish the impact of the vaccines on transmission of the virus.
