Staff from the Ninewells laboratories celebrated Biomedical Science Day with an interactive event in the hospital’s medical school.
Haematology, biochemistry, histopathology and microbiology biomedical science staff chatted to visitors about their role and invited people to take part in some fun experiments.
NHS Tayside training manager Sharon Young said, “Biomedical Science Day is a great opportunity for us to build relationships with our colleagues, patients and public. By opening the doors to the laboratory, we can help everybody understand the vital role of biomedical science in healthcare.”
Biomedical Science Day (20 June 2019) aims to inform the public about practices in biomedical science, strengthen interdisciplinary team work and communication in hospitals and celebrate a profession that is at the heart of healthcare.
