The day will kick off with a warm welcome and introduction, discussing more about the purpose of the group and why having a women+ in tech network is important. Followed by an icebreaker to introduce you to your peers as well as hear from an Aviva guest speaker on their career journey.
The main part of the day will be split into two parts - an interactive workshop with the whole group, and then breaking up into smaller groups for our Solution Sprints.
· Workshop: Crafting Inclusive Job Descriptions - we’ll review techy job descriptions to identify language and requirements that may deter women applicants. Participants will collaborate to pinpoint problematic aspects and develop practical suggestions to make these descriptions more inclusive and appealing to all. You'll gain the skills to see past the off-putting job descriptions and have suggestions to apply in your organisations when they next advertise a technical job.
· Solution Sprints - The goal is for each team to work on a different challenge the Women+ in Tech community face and come up with a solution. It doesn't need to be anything fancy or fully fleshed out yet, it is so you and other members of the network can take these ideas away into our own organisations, develop them further if needed and trial them out! More information on these and the topics selected to follow.
Lastly, we will finish with an optional networking lunch, which will be provided.
