University of Dundee Three Minute Thesis Final

15/06/2022 12:30 - 15/06/2022 14:00

Come learn about some of the fascinating ongoing research taking place at the University of Dundee at this special event packed with short, snappy and inspirational presentations.

Show your support for this year’s Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) finalists and hear how their research is working to advance our knowledge and improve our lives. In the 3MT competition, doctoral candidates are challenged to present a compelling spoken presentation on their research topic and its significance in just three minutes.

Developed by The University of Queensland, 3MT cultivates postgraduate researchers’ academic, presentation, and research communication skills by requiring them to communicate in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

The winner, as chosen by our expert judges, will be entered into the next stage of the UK-wide competition, and audience members will also have the opportunity to vote for their favourite speaker in our People's Choice Award.

This year the 3MT final is a hybrid event taking place in-person, while also being live web streamed to a virtual audience. If you are a PGR, student or staff member at the University of Dundee, you'll be welcome to attend in person (Dalhousie 3G05 Lecture Theatre 2) or to attend virtually, while members of the public can watch and support the event via the live stream - we encourage secondary school groups to tune in! Those attending virtually will be emailed an invite link to the event once they have registered.
