The next seminar is on the 24th March at 1500GMT – “Genetic control of plant architecture in barley” by Laura Rossini, University of Milan, Italy and Elahe Tavakol, University of Shiraz, Iran Chaired and introduced by Gary Muehlbauer, UMN.
Please note when joining that the event will be recorded and shared afterwards.
Laura Rossini is professor in crop genetics at the University of Milan, Italy. Her research activity is in the area of crop genetics, genomics and molecular biology. For the past twenty years she and her group have applied genetic and genomic approaches to investigate the mechanisms controlling plant morphology and development with a major focus on barley.
Elahe is a former post-doc in my team and now professor at the University of Shiraz (Iran) and we have an ongoing collaboration on the characterization of the uniculme4 gene, together with Gary Muehlbauer (https://doi.org/10.1104/pp.114.252882).
Elahe Tavakol - Associate professor in plant genetics at the University of Shiraz. Her research and teaching are in the area of plant genetics, genomics, transcriptomics, molecular biology and bioinformatics. Over the last decade her main research line was to investigate the genetic control of plant architecture and abiotic stress responses in plants with a major focus on cereals including barley.
