Dr Debbie Wake is co-founder and CEO of MyWay Digital Health, a successful University of Dundee spin out company (incorporated Jan 2017) from the School of Medicine. Now the company has 15 employees, turning over £1m and significant commercial contracts in NHS England and a strong pipeline developing in the Middle East and the USA.
 

She is also a Clinical Reader at the Centre for Medical Informatics, Usher Institute, University of Edinburgh (UoE), NHS Diabetes Consultant (NHS Lothian), (MBChB, BSc, PhD, Clin Ed Dip). Debbie is passionate about technology, informatics and educational in diabetes care. She is the national clinical lead for MyDiabetesMyWay - a data-driven self-management platform for people with diabetes with more than 40,000 registrants. Her business is the winner of the European e-health adopters award in 2017 (DUK self-management award).
 

Debbie Wake is currently leading a £1m multi-stakeholder Innovate UK Digital Health Technology Catalyst to support artificial intelligence in diabetes care.
 

Furthermore, Debbie is a 2017/18 NHS Innovation Accelerator fellow, a 2015 Diabetes UK Clinical Champion, an Innovate UK Women in Innovation Award winner. Debbie was a health columnist for the Scotsman newspaper (2008-11), and resident on-screen doctor for STV (The Hour) (2009-11).
