We are looking for a versatile and adaptable individual to join our molecular biology and protein production team. While the company is still very much in a research and development stage, we are focused on working towards regulatory conditions.
You will be required to work in an organised manner both within a team and independently. Your main role will be to assist with protein expression and purification using conventional and novel methodologies, with emphasis on downstream processing. The individual must be familiar with a variety of purification methods, for example, affinity chromatography, ion exchange, GST etc. and adept in the use of an AKTA (or similar chromatography equipment). The individual will also contribute to molecular biology procedures, therefore experience in this area would be preferred.
As a small team, all staff members participate in general laboratory duties including but not limited to; cleaning and sterilising glass and plastic ware, ordering reagents/consumables and general cleaning duties. The individual will also contribute to writing and reviewing SOPs and relevant documentation.
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years relevant experience in CRO protein production (downstream processing)
- Familiar with variety of purification methods
- Use of AKTA systems (or similar)
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
- Flexibility and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
Desired:
- Experience of "fill and finish", including freeze drying
- Experience with molecular biology techniques (ligations, sub-cloning, mini-prep etc.)
- Experience with bacterial culture work
- Protein production at both small batch and fermenter scale
