Platinum Informatics is a Dundee-based Life Sciences Informatics company, established in 2018, dedicated to transforming scientific experimentation by bringing the digital laboratory of the future to the research laboratories of today. Our software solution is an integrated suite of performant tools designed for commercial R&D laboratories focussed on multi-omics research. In addition, we have our own contract research service, Platinum Discovery offering an integrated suite of services from experimental design to insight delivery, with deep expertise in Proteomics and access to one of the largest mass spectrometry facilities in the world, supported by Platinum Desimal. Our Desimal solution is an end to end suite of software tools focused on data collection, management, curation, analysis and interrogation with automating software to significantly reduce time and errors to complete these types of experiments involving both big and complex data.
Your new role
We are looking for a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our growing team. You should have relevant prior experience in scientific business development and be comfortable working with senior stakeholders both externally and internally. The role will allow the successful person to work on both high value large contracts as well as smaller routine business. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Operations, your role will involve:
Research and assess new and existing markets .
Interpret customer needs.
Develop a tactical business development strategy for the growth of Platinum Desimal software.
Fill the sales pipeline including setting up meetings with clients and stakeholders.
Research and interpret competitor positioning.
Develop and present comprehensive business cases for new opportunities.
Progress sales leads through to completion.
Preparing internal reports, updating SalesForce.
Represent Platinum Informatics at meetings and conferences
Prepare sales reports and analyse variances
Work closely with Platinum Discovery to nurture joint opportunities.
Provide input to the Commercial Subcommittee as required.
Embed a commercial, ethical and systematic approach to business development.
About you and your experience
You must have worked for a minimum of 5 years in a relevant industry sales or business development role (biotechnology/pharmaceutical) and have sales or marketing experience for life science laboratory-based software solutions. You must have knowledge and understanding of multiomic approaches, be a self-starter with high levels of motivation and delivery focused.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry sales and business development experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical companies.
Experience in sales or marketing of life science laboratory-based software solutions.
Experience in proteomics or other omics technologies.
Experience of directly working with senior executives.
Self-starter with high levels of motivation.
