AHSP, Innovation Development Manager

TASC, Ninewells Hospital & Medical School AHSP, Innovation Development Manager (IDM) - Band 8a Fixed Term for 3 Years Salary Scale: £45,446 - £51,883 Per Annum (*Salary and band are indicative only and are subject to Agenda for Change job evaluation)

Formally launched in November 2015, the Academic Health Science Partnership in Tayside (AHSP) is a formal partnership between the University of Dundee and NHS Tayside dedicated to stimulating innovation to drive health and social care improvement. The partnership was the first of its type in Scotland and was established with the support of Scottish Government.

The Innovation Development Manager (IDM) is a new appointment and will be part of the AHSP team. The role will have a primary focus on driving healthcare innovation collaborations and raising external project funding. The IDM must also demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting all aspects of the partnership's activities and growth.

This is a senior, business critical role providing support to the University of Dundee and NHS Tayside research and innovation community brought together through AHSP. The IDM will be required to work with a high degree of autonomy and this will align with a strategic and operational steer from the AHSP Executive, in particular from the Director, Associate Director and Cluster Directors.

Given that AHSP is a collaboration, and a not a legal entity, it does not employ individuals. Those working within or contributing to the partnership are either employed by NHS Tayside or the University of Dundee. The IDM will be an NHS Tayside employee and will be formally appointed and managed as a member of staff within the Tayside Medical Science Centre (TASC). Notwithstanding this arrangement the IDM will act under the instruction and will be directly responsible to the Director and Associate Director of AHSP and wider AHSP Executive. The IDM will be based in the AHSP Office at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, Dundee.

Informal enquiries to Graeme Findlay, AHSP Associate Director/Director of Strategic Development, NHS Liaison, University of Dundee or Professor Dilip Nathwani, AHSP Director, Level 10, Ninewells Hospital & Medical School. Tel: 01382 383140.

Written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment. You will be required to bring this if shortlisted for interview.
