Chaloner Chute is Chief Technology Officer at the Digital Health & Care Institute, Scotland’s national innovation centre for digital health and care. He leads on DHI’s technical strategy and is responsible for the way DHI support and delivers technical innovation.
Chal’s main contribution is to apply systems thinking and methodologies in support of the overall DHI innovation model – creatively applying technology in ways that can bring about whole system change.
He's devoted to the idea that citizens can be empowered to take an active role in their own wellbeing. Health and care services need to learn how to work with people on their own terms. Chal thinks digital health offers tools to achieve this, and the DHI has the fresh perspective necessary to reconceive of the relationship between the citizen and those who might care for them.
