Working together for health and care across Tayside
Chairman of NHS Tayside John Brown joined Chief Executive of NHS Scotland Paul Gray as he met the three Chief Executives of Dundee, Angus and Perth & Kinross Councils in Dundee this week.
The meeting provided an opportunity to underscore the importance of collaborative working in designing and delivering health and care services for the people of Tayside.
The Chief Officers of the Health and Social Care Partnerships in Tayside also attended to highlight much of the good work which is already happening in communities across Tayside, and Mr Gray and Mr Brown heard many examples of community teams leading innovative ways of delivering health and care.
NHS Tayside Chairman John Brown said, “Today’s meeting has been extremely useful as we know that if we deliver the right services in our communities then this makes a huge impact on the health and care we provide in our hospitals and other facilities.
“The role of the health and social care partnerships is critical in driving the changes needed to transform health and care services across Tayside.
“There is no doubt that there are many people who are benefiting already from changes to the way we deliver care, with a shift in focus to communities and more people able to be cared for at home. I want to see more of this really great work being taken forward in the future across Tayside to ensure more patients, service users and families can access care near to their homes and avoid hospital admissions where this is possible.”
